I have been on the pill for around a year now and hate how much weight I have gained (approx 7lbs I reckon). I have contemplated coming off it but tbh I don't really want to as my periods came every 2 weeks and lasted for 8 days!!! It was just horrendous, at least now I know when they are coming. But has anyone else had this problem??
What did you do??
It's just making me eat more than I should
xx

I have the exact same problem. I have gained a lot after i started using the pill, but I can't stop using it. I started on the pill because I never knew when I would get my period, it had its own life. With the pill I have more control.. but it is idiotic with all the weight gain. I don't know what helps, I guess it will stabilize and then you can loose it again. =)

apparently after a while you stabilise so you wont continue putting on weight.. with me i lost it again after the first year or so.
but if you stopped taking it you'd have to try just as hard to lose it as you do now.
the pill also protects you from some cancers...
the benfits outweigh the negative in my opinion!!

I got went back to the GP and told them I wasnt happy with it, they changed the type of pill I was on, and I still wasnt happy. I decided to have the implant fitted and its the best thing I have done :-)

If it's bothering you, you should see your doctor about a non-hormonal alternative?
Weight gain is a side affect from your body reacting to the hormones.
Everyone reacts differently to different things.
The first pill I was on, I lost weight. Loads of weight.
Then I changed to the implant, it drove me to depression.
Then a different pill, gave me mood swings, made me fat.
So I'm back with the first now. Try different things to find what suits you best.
That is, assuming your in the UK and don't have to pay for prescriptions.
Good luck x

The Pill
I have recently been told that its best to take the contraceptive pill at night - is this correct or does it not matter as long as its the same time ish each day?

this sounds really weird but since i've been on the pill, i will only lose weight every other day when i'm fasting or restricting. it's driving me crazy!
