    Default Which Fruit??

    Hi Guys

After the advice giving to me on my last posting I have just been shopping and bought some fruit. Ive got apples, pears, bananas, kiwi, and clementimes.
Im gonna try to eat mainly fruit for a week cos some of you said i was having too many carbs and thats why im not loosing anymore weight.

Which fruit is best? How many pieces of fruit a day? Will I be ok if i just eat fruit or should i still eat cereal etc to try and balance it?

Did you get grapefruit ? Apparently there is a chemical in them that helps burn fat, i eat a pink grapefruit everyday for my dinner, no sugar there sweet enough without.

you will be fine if you just eat fruit... although you may find it makes you go to the toilet a lot for the first few days if your digestions is used to loads of stodgy carbs!!

clementines are brilliant, they are so tasty and only 35 cals each.

aim for at least 5 pieces of fruit/veg a day, but the more the better. although some fruits and fruit juices (like avocado) can be quite high cal.

i tend to eat a lot of cucumber and celery as well. as they have basically no calories at all. and are quite filling. half a cucumber and a clementine can be a whole meal for less than 50cals.

i dont know... bananas do have more calories than some other fruit, avaerage size one is about 100.. but i think they fill me up for longer so i eat less overall... does that make sense?

also they have a lot of potassium in which will help replace what was in your potatoes and bread.

i personally dont think you can overdo fruit and veg.... i mean, theoretically you eat 2000 cals of apples... but i dont think it would ever actually happen, that would be 25 apples a day!

i think there is a fruit diet on www.proanamia.com have a look.

if you're concerned about carbs, maybe consider something with protein. If you eat egg whites, those are practically all protein. (Fruit is basically just carbs, little protein or fat). Or get some fat free tofu or milk/soymilk.

I think you should add some cereal or something else to your diet, especially if you get some fortified cereal with good stuff like calcium, iron, etc

i would definately say apples and clementines .... but i just went out and bought a bunch of grapes put them in a container and put them in the freezer they make a really nice little treat ! only about 34 cals for 10 grapes !
Pears are nice ... and pinapple which can be a little higher in cals but i find it gives me so much energy ... !

To the person who mentioned grapefruits being good, does this include grapefruit juice? There's always loads of that in my fridge and although it tastes godwaful, I could acquire a taste for it if it's good.

I was wondering does anyone know about currents? They are similar to grapes but I'm not sure fi that counts for nutritional information. I'm fatally allergic to grapes so I can't use them but I thought maybe currents would work...
