Default Grams of fat or calories?

When i go shopping I always look at the fat content and then try to limit myself to 5grams of fat a day.

Im not loosing weight anymore though so perhaps Im having too many calories?
I know a lot of you count calories rather than grams of fat.

I need some advice on this because im eating next to no fat and its not working anymore. I have bought fruit as that has no fat in it hardly but am i getting that wrong too?

Some of you said I was having too many carbs, but i dont really understand whats good or bad?!!...im confused again!

it's things like bread, pasta, rice, potatoes i think. it's good to have some, generally i try to keep a bit of a balance so i don't lose too much energy but for snacks i eat fruit. i dont know if my diet is particularly healthy mind!

ok fair enough, I think i will cut out the bread and cereal for a bit and see if that gives me the results im looking for.....im never gonna hit that ever moving target weight otherwise!!

I was thinking of eating nothing but fruit for a whole week? Would that be ok? or will it have a reverse effect?...I appreciate we are all different but i mean is that ok in general or will I have to eat other things aswell to help with the weight loss??

It may be an impossible target but i want to loose another 8lbs, sooner the better!
I tried eating nothing but that stops working after a while so thought fruit might be the way forward

Any help, as always, is much appreciated xx

you would lose a lot if you only ate fruit and veg for a week.

carbs is bread/rice/pasta/potataoes/cereal all that kind of stuff.

one gram of carbs can hold 3g of water so you can retain weight you dont need.

it is better to count calories than grams of fat...
carbs also have loads of calories so you are providing your body with lots of energy, its just burning that instead of the fat!

thanks Piglet, you explain things very well. I actually understand at last!!

Also.....will i be ok on just fruit for a week? If so, how many pieces would be considered too much?

Also.....How about Tuna and sweetcorn?...are they low in carbs?

    Also(!!)..Are eggs bad??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!....sorry to be a pain!
nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

nah dont worry, asking questions is what this site is for!!

tuna is very good, especially if you get it in brine... (a lot of ana people get virtually no salt because we are so obsessive about having healthy food, but you need a little bit else you start to get really bad cramp all the time -i learnt this the hard way!!)

eggs are also good, there are about 80 cals in an egg, so a couple of boiled eggs can be a good meal. or you can just have egg whites and make it into an ommlette, the white has even less cals than the yolk.

sweetcorn is ok... its higher in calories than some vegetables but still less than rice and potatoes... just dont overdo it and make sure you read all the info on the packets so you know exactly what you are getting.
