i've tried quite a few times to purge but somehow i can't- i feel even more fat and useless because ican't
i know you will all go on about how bad purging is but i thought that this community wasn't to discourage people
i'm not going to act on advise i'm actually just curious even though i binge so much and am desperate to lose the weight and am feeling so depressed
any ideas what i was doing wrong?![]()

well the first time is always hard.
You have to hold fingers/toothbrush/etc
long enough, it might take a while and soon it'll happen.
um...it's hard the first couple of times really, after doing
a couple of times you get the hang of it. You also have
to relax if your tense you'll hold it down. All I Can Do Is Try And Try

hmm...
I'm normally not one to encourage eating disorder behavior, but I agree with justcrazy. It is extremely difficult the first couple of times, because you're new to it.
I used my fingers. It seems to be easier than a toothbrush. I have to hold my fingers down my throat several times before anything comes up.●Anorexia Nervosa ruined my life in 2006, but now I'm changing that around. "Wannarexics" are not welcome to me. hey there, it also depends on what you've eaten. make sure it's soft food and drink plenty of water during the binge.
i know you don't want to hear it my conscience means i have to say it though (read my plea for help in the mia section if you want to know why), try you're best not to get into the cycle, once you've got the hang of it, it's very hard to get out of it.
take care

Really hate giving tips...
Another friendly tip for you
Stay away from cheese if you're planning on purging directly after you've eaten, it will choke you. Stay away from anything hard with kernels or otherwise chip type things, pasta is not a good choice... it's worse than cheese. yuck.
The easiest thing, from my experience, has been soup-type stuff. The more watered down it is, the easier it is to come up. Make sure you have water in between each bite, or you're asking for trouble.
If you don't chew your food completely, you're asking for trouble there as well.
But I agree with anna as well. The binge-purge cycle is a hard cycle to break. I thought I was free of it, until today. If you can avoid it and can think of another way to get rid of the calories - like the treadmill for instance - it will be easier on your throat and stomach.
And to answer your question about eating to the point of being sick. Again, from my experience, if you eat to the point where you're sick anyway, it is going to be easier. Your stomach isn't going to fight you as much.
xx
