Default Burned out from running after marathon.. looking for other fun ways to work out

Hi! I finished my first marathon a few weeks ago and I've been having trouble getting back into running. I loved running because it was such a great workout and I got so close to having the body I want, but now I've pudged up a bit unfortunately and need some new fun ways to get back into shape until I can get back into running.. I'm dying for a flat stomach. Is it impossible for some people to get? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I know just how you feel. Originally, i lost a lot of weight just running on my cross-trainer every day. But lately, i've stopped just because running at home gets so boring.

So now, i do a lot of kickboxing instead (i've always been into martial arts) and yoga. Both are kickass cardio workouts - i definitely recommend them to burn fat and tone up.

Plus, if you have a gym nearby that offers classes, try things like cardio dance workouts, spinning or pilates or something... they make working out and burning calories fun. =) And if you're an outdoorsy person, take a weekend off sometime and go mountain hiking or something. Scenery can be beautiful, it'll give you some peace and it burns a LOT of calories.
♪ Do you know what it's like when you're scared to see yourself? I want to feel better, put me back together... Stay with me here now, and never surrender. ♫

When I found myself doing it more but enjoying it less, I spent some time looking at popular workouts that didn't take so much time. There are some good DVDs for HIIT (High intensity interval training) that can totally kick my butt in half an hour. I'm getting great cardio, building some smooth muscle and feeling good. I also like having an extra hour in my day! A quick overview is here.

And me hahaa . I'd love to be able to run a marathon. Well done must of felt like a great achievement.
Um you could try swimming or ellipitical machine, both are low impact on joints etc but still a good workout and gets your heart rate up. Might help you keep your fitness up until you feel ready to run again xx

Congrats on the marathon. I find the cross trainer where you used your arms really tones up my stomach. Also swimming, I can totally feel my abs working. The rowing machine if you do it right uses like every muscle, it really helps your core too. Try zumba classes if you're into dancing, I would have liked it but I'm so malcoordinated I kept dancing into everyone else
