So I just got back from the gym for the first time ever. My big sister got free 7-day passes for my younger sister and I. Let me just start by saying it was the best workout of my entire life! I feel so good, it's true what they say about exercise being a natural stress-reliever. I suddenly feel more carefree. And it really helped that the whole time I was listening to some awesome music, including Dubstep((:
While I was there, I realized I was one of the smallest people there. I'm 5'2 and 109 pounds. In the past two weeks I've lost about 8 pounds, and I didn't realize how noticeable it was until today. Looking in the full body mirrors they had all around, I actually looked kind of skinny! I was even able to take my shirt off (I had a sports bra on under, don't worry lol) and put it over my head when we left and it was raining outside. I felt comfortable in my body!
I burned about 320 calories total, which I think is pretty good for my first time ever. We were there for about two hours. I did the elliptical (which really kicked my ass), and then moved to the treadmill, where I power-walked on an incline. I liked that a lot better, especially since I could adjust the speed to go perfectly to the beat of whatever song I was listening to.
Anyways, that was just my little testimony. It's one thing to diet and lose weight and be skinny, but its a whole 'nother thing to actually be fit, toned and in shape. I have never been in shape my whole life, and I've only been skinny once, so to achieve both this summer would be phenomenal! I still have 6 days left on my free membership, and coincidentally, 6 more pounds to lose(: & I'm definitely asking my parents to extend my membership when they get back from their vacation.
I recommend everyone to join a gym, it's great!

My First Experience at the Gym!

That's fantatsic, I hope you continue with that.
I'm longing for satisfaction
But on this treacherous hill, I can find no traction.
My soul is dying of needless starvation
Simply seeking that empty sensation.
Craving something but what, I don't know
I say, 'My inhibitions I will not forgo!'
This mindset, my life it consumes..
Eventually it will lead to my imminent doom. - Lizabelle and I

Well done, glad you liked it the first time. I hated it the first few times but have grown to love it lol, i hate not exercising everyday now i just feel really lazy. I dont always do gym though sometimes ill just swim because it's quite low impact and feels like a rest day.
Its good that you felt comfortable there, at my gym its all old people. I never see anyone under the age of 30 (not that 30 is old, but that's the youngest the rest are definately over 50), i dont know why they are so old at my gym haha probably because its a quite village or maybe im just going at wierd times.
Anyway glad you enjoyed itxx

Well done! I've just re-joined a gym too. I'm very fortunate because I live in a beautiful area in the countryside and have lots of hills for running on but I find it much more motivational to go in a room with no windows for an hour and run the treadmill, going nowhere, like a mad thing haah x

Ahaha! I know, I find it more motivating too. Running outside, I easily quit after about 10 minutes. Lol. I never thought I could burn 300+ calories in one go! The gym made that possible<3 Today I burned 450!
Thanks all of you for your encouragement, it means a lot!(:

Hahaa im the same, i live in the countryside surrounded by loads of country lanes, hills, nice scenery etc. But i much prefer going to the gym with no windows, aritifical lights and air-con lol. I find it more motivating seeing how many calories ive burned, how fast ive run etc, seeing everyone else work out and people seeing me workout means i try alot harder lol
