    Default Self Harm Rules

    Tips aren't allowed at all
Tips can include what you use and where you hide it or anything else that will enable someone else to actively engage in SI behaviors.

    Trigger Warnings
Trigger warnings are absolutely vital and should be used where appropriate. Please include trigger warnings in the subject heading if applicable.

    Support and Sharing
Please remember that this type of topic is sensitive for a lot of people. We need to consider the importance of coping with these thoughts and feelings, rather than how we do it and/or what we use.

If there are any other items that need to be included in this list (I'm sure there are more), please PM me and I will add them to the list. Also let me know if I need to re-word any of the above.

    Thank you,
    DS

How about no videos on self-harm (even if they are fake because they can really trigger someone into trying what they see)

    And no pictures too.
Every adventure requires a first step. Trite, but true, even here.

At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just not facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world, six billion souls. And sometimes... all you need is one.

No pressure/asking sensitive questions. If they want to answer fine, but no pressure!

Just my opinion, I am new here but not to SI forums, I don't feel that numbers should be allowed, I have noticed that now in a couple posts, for some people it can become competetive in the way they feel if they are not as bad as someone else they may not feel they have a legit problem or be taken seriously, so they then attempt to become worse to prove they have a problem, for others it may turn into who is the "sickest" by how bad, severe, or number of times they hurt themselves in one session instead of simply saying they feel they are getting worse and want help.

One other thing I noticed in reading threads is that people asking advice on coverying or hiding is automatically considered tip giving, I think that should be on individual basis as some people may be seeking to hide it from public and need ways to feel comfortable in public, as long as it is not encouraging them to stay in hiding and not seek help, like trying to get away with it vs maintaining a sense of dignity when around those whose business it is not anyway... just my thoughts

This is completely true, the only numbers that should be allowed are number of days SH free. People most def. always down play their sickness, and when they hear or see someone else worse off they are able to continue to stay wrapped up in their sickness.

One other thing I noticed in reading threads is that people asking advice on covering or hiding is automatically considered tip giving
I agree with this, however, some people come on here and don't use the support appropriately. While it may be just a helpful; suggestion to help you feel more comfortable about ur scars for you, it may be giving those who don't want to stop SHing tips on how and where to cut where it is easy covered.
"Well I found a woman, stronger than anyone I know
She shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share her home
I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets
To carry love, to carry children of our own
We are still kids, but we're so in love"

I totally understand that, but there is a difference between saying, "injury on your fill in the blank as to "hide it" and saying, "use this cream or make up to reduce the appearance of scars" etc." Everything seems a bit complicated at this site, there is another one I go to but I was looking at others for more topics, the other one I go to doesn't seem to have any problems with people trying to get tips and things like that or posting numbers there is just and understanding, I will try to get the hang of this site...
