    Default Home for the holidays

Does anyone else struggle with maintaining eating habits (restricting, bingeing) when home for the holidays? I've been eating regular meals because my family cooks nonstop and I feel terrible about myself. What's your advice for keeping up with my eating habits? I'm normally so good with control and restricting but something about being home makes it so hard

I'm sorry you're feeling so much mental turmoil right now, but no one on this forum is going to abet you in using ED behaviors. We're not necessarily a recovery forum, (we also welcome individuals who don't feel they are ready to take that step yet), but we are pro-recovery and do not promote/encourage harmful ED behaviors ever. I know you are new and probably were not aware; please read the rules to clarify what is allowed before posting.

As far as the holidays go, my advice is to enjoy this time with your family. It's not really about food, it's about being together. Life is short, and ultimately the memories you make are going to be more important than the calories you consumed. Think of it as taking a break from restriction if it makes you feel more comfortable; the holidays only last so long.
