so i'm not what you'd call a "shy girl"
in fact, as a drama student, i'm quite the opposite..
but recently i've noticed that i'm becoming more anxious of random things..
like when i go into town with my friends,
sometimes i don't want to go because i just hate it when someone looks at me funny.
or i get panicky if i think a stranger will say something to me.
and i'm getting more and more worked up when i'm in crowded places.
i'm guessing it's to do with my eating disorder..
can anyone relate?

hey, I always am loud and yes I am a drama student , public speaker and a generally social person. but I do have many panic attacks and have the same things that you are talking about. its quite normal because your confidence level drops dramatically. I try before I go out to avoid mirrors after I've done my hair and make up and tell myself that it'll be okay. just when you have a bit of a freakout. try calimng yourself. hope that helps.

I know exactly how you feel. I get incredibly anxious shopping, going to gigs and parties. I feel as though everyone is much more together, more attractive and more confident.
The only way to cope is breathe deeply, remember that no matter what other people think of you, you're ok, you have goals, you know what you want. It's never easy, but just retain your sense of self in the face of the anxiety, and you'll get through it.I know a place where no cars go.

I am exactly the same! I find that most situations i become overly anxious about are ones in which i have no control; exam results, other peoples behaviour and perception of me.. i hate it too

i get that alot too. last time i was in a crowded place i had a panic attack...that was from a concert i went to...in a stadium. imagine how bad that must be, but i did it for my friend...i wanted to go out more but that was before i was diagnosed with anxiety. didnt see it coming.
i skipped school yesterday because i felt like a group of people in my class were talking behind my back
the only people i would say are the SAFE approachable people are beginning to change gradually everyday, i feel like they look at me negatively sometimes.
i wish i could help you too, but youre not alone.
