    Default Holiday Season/Beating the Plateau

    Hey everyone!

I am at a loss. I have been trying to lose weight over the holidays but I just keep plateauing. I will have wonderful days when I only eat 400 calories and burn off 800. thats -400! then I will slip and eat about 1000 calories and exercise off about 300 and nothing will happen. Last month i lost about 7 pounds in a week by eating about 500 calories a day and working off 400. so first of all... any suggestions for surviving the holidays! (my mother keeps baking like a madwoman) and secondly any suggestions on how to overcome a plateau. Any tips will help, I am starting to lose hope and i still have 20 more pounds to lose to get to my gw!

    Thanks!

zoop! in the same boat chuck! That's why I haven't been around here for a while (3 weeks). Back for a bit of inspiration lol... but i think i have the answer.

I'm going to try and stop putting effort in to what I eat.. it will be tough I know. but i figure the plateau will go after christmas if i eat normally (as normally as I can manage anyway) but just enough so i don't actually put any weight on and then it will drop off in the new year. 2nd Jan is the first day of a 7 day Juice fast for me!

    Good luck!

Thanks, I think that actually might be the best answer. It's so hard trying to keep with a strict diet during the holidays!, I am right there with you on the juice fast starting the 2nd of january!

    Thanks again!

yay! Did I hear Juice fast? I'm so in! I managed to make it through xmas eve with under 200cals and I just have to live through today and tomorrow and we'll be ok. I can't wait to drop more weight.

i reckon 2nd Jan Juice fast will be fairly easy. I have nothing else to look forward to in January - just frost and cold! So there's nothing else to focus on. I can put all my attention into fasting. hurray!

I so want to start today but I raelize that starting a fast after eating a "big" meal is a bad idea. I'm going raw again for the rest of the week to transition back and then it's fast, fast, fast, can't wait!

haha, I actually think it is going to be quite easy because like ella said, January is a month of bad weather and I likewise have nothing else to do, so I will be sure to put all my effort into fasting!
